Our Mission

Our mission is to build a progressively intentioned network of women and allies. Through non-partisanship and an emphasis on inclusion, we strive to make Cleveland County a community that is representative of all residents.
We believe that women are a strong source of community building and that using a member-led approach to enact localized progressive impact is the way to push forward.
The Kudzu Coalition’s fundamental goals are to foster localized empowerment through volunteerism, education, activism, and mobilization efforts. Supporting progressive women throughout the county, and beyond, by building an inclusive network of member-led advocacy.
Progress is home grown right here in Cleveland County and is cultivated by local leadership. We sow the seeds and watch them grow.

Elections are always happening

local elections have the most direct impacts on our lives.

Rural small towns across the US present an incredible amount of opportunity. Currently, power is often grabbed by a small group of friends in true “good ‘ol boy” fashion because local elections are not highly publicized, and candidates often run uncontested.
We aim to change that in Cleveland County.
IN 2023, just 7.25% of voters turned out for Cleveland County municipal elections.

It doesn’t have to involve financial resources, and often doesn’t require a huge time investment. Shouting into the social media void doesn’t change things, but knowing your neighbors and being a helper where you can absolutely DOES.
