Who We Are

We are your neighbors. Mothers. Sisters. Daughters. Grandmothers. Aunts.

Some of us grew up here. Some moved away and returned. Others moved in and never left.
We are professionals and students, stay-at-home moms and small business owners.
We care about our community and want to see it continue to move forward.
We are Shelby Women for Progress.

Our Mission

The mission of Shelby Women for Progress is to build a progressively intentioned network of women and allies. Through non-partisanship and an emphasis on inclusion, SW4P strives to make Cleveland County a community that is representative of all residents by sowing the seeds of progress.

This progress is home grown right here in Cleveland County and cultivated by local leadership.

SW4P’s fundamental goals are to foster localized empowerment through volunteerism, education, activism, and mobilization efforts. Supporting progressive women throughout the county, and beyond, by building an inclusive network of member lead advocacy.

SW4P believes that women are a strong source of community building and in using a member lead approach to enact localized progressive impact.
