No Kings Protest

National Day of Protest on Saturday, October 18, 2025 11a-1p.

We reject authoritarianism. We reject leaders who see themselves above the law. We reject the idea that one man can strip away our freedoms and call it democracy.

This is a fight for we the people. For checks and balances, for dignity, and for a future where power belongs to all of us, not just the few.

Bring your signs, your voices, and your determination.

Together, we’ll remind our community:
We don’t bow to kings. We stand for democracy.

  • Signs
  • Water
  • Snacks!
  • A Friend
  • Your Voice
  • A chant or two if you’ve got ’em!
  • Also welcome: guitars, tambourines, and other portable instruments (because joy is a form of protest and music is joy)

NOPE.

Protest is as American as blueberry pie, and people have been organizing WITHOUT taking names since even before we were an established nation. We understand that privacy matters even more now, so no, there’s no need to register your attendance.

This protest is being organized by our friends at Foothills for Justice, a WNC Chapter of Indivisible. You can learn about all of the partner and larger organizations that are creating momentum behind this national day of protest HERE.

A core principle behind all our protest efforts is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

If you are in the area but cannot attend, there are several ways that you can help!

  • Share this event with like-minded friends and neighbors who CAN attend.
  • Drive by, honk, and wave! We love the support.
  • Donate a case of water (you can even do this in advance! Email thekudzucoalition@gmail.com, and we will coordinate)
  • Make a sign – we will find someone to hold it up for you in your absence!

Protest is just the first step.
If you’ve ever left an event and wondered, “Okay, now what?!,” we’ve got you! We’ve compiled a list of small next steps you can take to maintain momentum and move forward.

Every little bit counts.
